About DHI

DHI is an experienced rental housing developer.

Our core competency is the development or rehabilitation of workforce housing throughout the U.S., with a primary focus on California and the western states, as illustrated below.

Beginning with their first project in 1997, the principal's of DHI have successfully taken part as General Partners in creating or preserving 50 affordable multifamily projects. In doing so, they have provided quality affordable homes to over 5,000 low-income households nationwide.

Our efforts include the completion of 15 preservation projects, containing 1,694 units, in California. We have preserved project-based rental assistance and avoided permanent displacement of the existing low-income residents. We’re experienced in working with HUD, local housing agencies and existing residents to create a successful preservation project.

We don’t do this alone. Our experience working with HUD, local housing agencies, lenders both local and national, and our continued collaboration with existing residents both pre and post rehab, ensures that our properties are an integral part of the fabric of the local community.
